President Tsai's mother passes away
President Tsai Ing-wen's mother, Ms. Chang Chin-fong (張金鳳), passed away peacefully at home this afternoon surrounded by her children and family. She was 93 years old.
Ms. Chang Chin-fong kept things simple and low-key throughout her life, never wanting to inconvenience others. In keeping with her wishes, funeral preparations will be modest and limited to immediate family and close friends. There will be no mourning hall or public memorial service, and the family respectfully requests that mourners refrain from sending flowers, wreaths, or other offerings.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by President Tsai's elder brothers, and she is grateful for the many condolences received from friends near and far.
