Presidential Office thanks European Parliament for reiterating strong support for Taiwan
Presidential Office Spokesperson Huang Chung-yen (黃重諺) expressed sincere thanks to the European Parliament for passing a resolution on the state of EU-China relations report on September 12 that voiced strong support for Taiwan. The resolution calls for the EU and its Member States to do their utmost to urge the PRC to refrain from further military provocation towards Taiwan and endangering peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. The resolution also reiterates its consistent support for Taiwan's meaningful participation in international organizations, and support for a bilateral investment agreement with Taiwan.
As a member of the international community of democracies as well as our regional community, Taiwan is willing, and will continue, to contribute to maintaining regional security and stability, and fulfill its international responsibilities in close cooperation with like-minded countries. In addressing all challenges from China, we will vigorously defend against any infringement of the freedom, democracy, and well-being of our citizens.
