President Tsai sends condolences to Indonesia following Sulawesi earthquake

In response to the magnitude-6.2 earthquake that struck the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia on the early morning of January 15 (Taipei time), Presidential Office Spokesperson Xavier Chang (張惇涵) said that after learning of the event, President Tsai Ing-wen directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to relay the sincere concerns of the government and people of Taiwan to Indonesia, and to convey our condolences to the people affected by the disaster as well as their families. President Tsai also said that Taiwan is willing to provide assistance to the government of Indonesia as needed.

Spokesperson Chang said that the president instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue to closely monitor developments in the aftermath of the earthquake, ascertain the condition of our expatriates in Indonesia, and provide any help necessary to ensure the safety of Taiwan's citizens and businesses in the country.
