Premier Lien Chan and all members of the Executive Yuan (cabinet) submitted their resignations en masse today, and their resignations have been sent to the Office of the President for the approval of President Lee.
President Lee has highly praised Premier Lien and his cabinet for their devotion to the nation, society and the general public during their tenure.
Dr. Huang Kun-huei, secretary-general to the President, acting on the instructions of President Lee, has asked Legislator Vincent Siew to make preparations for assuming the premiership.
