Taipei, Nov. 16 (CNA) Republic of China President Chen Shui-bian "has absolute faith in Vice President Annette Lu" and does not think that she is the source of a rumor concerning his alleged extramarital affair, according to the Presidential Office statement Thursday.
According to the news release, the First Lady also does not believe Lu would spread such a rumor and is confident that Chen is not involved in an affair.
For her part, Lu condemned the report as a "political conspiracy" aimed at making her out to be a "demon."
