Taipei, Oct. 17 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian received the members of the Taiwan delegation to the 2003 informal leadership meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum Friday at the Presidential Office, encouraging them to increase Taiwan's visibility through active participation in summit activities.
Chen said that APEC is an important international organization that Taiwan has accessed. All members of the delegation should take the opportunity to participate actively in activities of the meeting slated for Oct. 20-21 in Bangkok.
Chen said that he believes Taiwan's international visibility and the value of its participation in the meeting will be markedly increased through active participation and introduction of constructive and concrete proposals.
He also wished the delegation much success in fulfilling its missions.
