President Chen Meets with the Japanese Delegation to the Sino-Japanese Modern Engineering and Technology Seminar
2003-10-27

Taipei, Oct. 27 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian met Monday with a group of Japanese engineers who came to Taiwan to attend a engineering seminar and urged them to do their part to improve bilateral ties while joining hands with their local counterparts to raise the level of both countries' engineering technology.

If the size of the Japanese delegation to the Sino-Japanese Modern Engineering and Technology Seminar is anything to go by, the significance of the seminar is increasing year by year as more and more of the top engineers from both countries are attending, the president said.

Japan has sent a 30-member delegation, the biggest ever, to exchange views with local engineers on issues in the fields of applied science, steel and iron, mechanical engineering, nuclear energy, the environment and various other relevant topics.
