Taipei, Nov. 4 (CNA) Vice President Annette Lu said Tuesday that she is seeking Taiwanese patrons for needy Paraguayan children.
Meeting a group of Paraguayan reporters visiting Taiwan, Lu said she hopes to find enough patrons to provide education fees of NT$10,000 (US294) per child per year for at least 1,000 Paraguayan children.
Lu, who has visited the South American state twice while in office, said she has given serious thought as to how to help Paraguayan children in need and believes the patronage scheme is the best way, as it will also consolidate the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
