Taipei, Feb. 13 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian bade farewell Friday to visiting Kiribati President Anote Tong with a military ceremony at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
A 21-gun military salute was accorded to Tong and the national anthems of the two countries were played during the ceremony.
Tong, his wife and the members of his entourage then said goodbye to Chen and his wife, as well as high-ranking government officials and foreign ambassadors and envoys posted to the Republic of China, after wrapping up a five-day visit.
