Taipei, July 26 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian presented a national flag Monday to Taiwan's delegation for the Athens Olympic Games and expressed hope that the athletes will do their utmost to win glory for the nation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chen said: "Judging from your suntans and the high self-confidence shown by all of you, I am confident that everyone is prepared to fulfill their dreams during the Olympics."
The president also called on the nation to root for the athletes during the Games that will open in the Greek capital Aug. 23, in the hope that they will win more medals.
According to a CTOC official, Taiwan's delegation, made up of 88 athletes, will compete in 14 sports -- shooting, softball, table tennis, cycling, archery, baseball, weightlifting, taekwondo, track and field, rowing, swimming, volleyball, judo and tennis.
