Taipei, June 11 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian received three cadets Wednesday who have been admitted to study at United States military academies and encouraging them to take the opportunity to learn more military knowledge.
The three cadets are Hung Wan-ting from the Chinese Military Academy, Yu Chang-jung from the Chinese Naval Academy and Ou Tse-wei from the Chinese Air Force Academy.
Chen, speaking to the three at the Presidential Office, said that in his capacity as commander in chief of the Republic of China's armed forces, he is especially proud of the cadets' excellent performance, which, he said, is a role model for all personnel of the armed forces and people of the nation as well.
He encouraged them to take the opportunity to learn more military knowledge and ethics from the U.S. and to contribute their understandiing to help increase the ability of the ROC armed forces.
