Taipei, Jan. 10 (CNA) Vice President Annette Lu expressed hope Monday that Taiwan and Paraguay can step up exchanges of talent so as to move toward a common goal of e-government.
Lu made the remarks when she received Salomon Fernandez, Paraguay's speaker of the House of Representatives.
Lu congratulated her visitor for being conferred the Order of Brilliant Star with Special Grand Gordon earlier at the Presidential Office.
The vice president also spoke of what she called "the three features of Taiwan people" -- diligence, thriftiness amd belief in education -- which she said has enabled Taiwan to overcome poverty and reap its present achievements.
For his part, Salomon expressed hope that both countries can strengthen exchanges based on their close relations.
