Taipei, June 10 (CNA) More youths of the nation are expected to benefit from the newly created "Dreams Come True Project, " which is part of the annual President's Education Awards, sources from the Public Network Foundation said Tuesday.

Addressing a news conference marking the establishment of the "Dreams Come True Project, " President Chen Shui-bian said the program will help the candidates of the President's Education Awards, numbering several hundreds islandwide, become more determined and confident in seeking to fulfill their goals.

While trumpeting the program as a move to strengthen the President's Education Awards significance, President Chen also beckoned the nation's business and industrial leaders to pitch in with contributions.

Chen said the President's Education Awards, though hotly contested among Taiwan's students aged between six and 18, do not extend beyond the NT$50,000 to NT$150,000 prize money. But the "Dreams Come True Project, " under the support and assistance from the business and industrial sectors, will be a long-lasting effort benefiting the nation's youths, and will have a much longer influence on their lives, he said.
