President Chen Shui-bian met with a delegation led by Roberto Micheletti Baín, President of National Congress of Honduras on September 13th.
In the meeting, President Chen said Taiwan's investment in Honduras has surpassed US$ 70 million, which makes Honduras one of Taiwan's important investment destinations in Central America. In the future, Taiwan looks forward to expanding the economic cooperation and signing a free trade agreement (FTA) with Honduras. President Chen said that the ties between Taiwan and Honduras would get even closer.
Also present at the meeting were Vice Foreign Minister Javier Ching-shan Hou and Deputy Secretary-General to the President Liu Shyh-fang.
