The Fifth Presidential Office Open Day Is Scheduled on October 23

The fifth Presidential Office open day this year is scheduled on October 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Presidential Office will entertain its visitors with an array of exhibitions in the office building. On display are Presidential Office historical picture collection, medals and decorations, President Chen's inauguration gifts given by foreign guests, "culturally creative" artworks, Chiayi folk arts, documents and papers of all presidents, Taiwan Governor Office archives, and works of the Presidential Office's art gallery.

The south plaza of the presidential building will host activities and exhibitions featuring folk art of Chiayi County. Sponsored by the Council of Cultural Affairs and Chiayi City government, the fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the north plaza will hold a publicity event sponsored by the Ministry of Interior starting from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those who wish to visit the Presidential Office line up in the south and north plazas of the building and undergo security check before entering the building. Two checkpoints are located in the intersection of Chungking South Road and Kueiyang Street and the intersection of Poai Road and Paoching Road. Handicapped visitors are encouraged to use special routes designed for their convenience when going into the building. Volunteers are available to assist inconvenient visitors, with a special elevator on door No. 2 to facilitate those tourists.

Visitors please bring ID card or passport to allow inspection of identity. Mainland Chinese residents are not allowed to make the visit for the time being. Please dress properly and oversized packages, video recorders, or video cameras should be put in the lockers.
