Vice President Annette Lu clarified that while she had made a visit to the Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Company during a trip to southern Taiwan promoting local industries, she maintained no personal relations with CEO Han Pi-hsiang of the company. Lawmaker Sun Ta-chien of the People First Party alleged that the vice president has been a friend to the CEO, whose company is involved in the bidding of KH6, a fast attack boat missile.
Vice President Lu also noted that she has never received such a petition as it is said that CEO Han has filed for a petition to her. The petition was instead received and dealt with by the Department of Public Affairs of the Presidential Office. The department has informed the company of the handling of the case, and no lobbying has been involved.
The vice president stressed that she will not rule out the possibility of taking legal actions if false accusation occurred in the future.
