The Department of Public Affairs said that the Presidential Office staff members and their dependents, who organized the volunteers corps, hold a charity sale gala today at the Presidential Courtyard to help the disadvantaged children. People donated goods for sale and a plan was established to help children with disabilities through school. It is hoped that people will be generous in their donations.
The sale and the plan will be part of greater efforts, which include a foster plan, to help disadvantaged children. Bamboo savings banks, produced by the factories at the September 21 earthquake rehabilitated area in Nantou, will be on sale. It is hoped that children will learn to save their money in the depository.
This activity is intended to emphasize the need for us all to carry our weight and help those less advantaged.
