Vice President Annette Lu on February 12 attended Pingsi Sky Lantern Festival, wishing Taiwan citizens prosperity and luck.
Lighting up the theme lantern with Taipei County Magistrate Chou Shih-wei, Vice President Lu praised the cultural ingenuity of the festival that it "perfectly connects the local culture to the world." In front of Chou, the vice president reassured that urban development of Taipei County should know no political distinctions.
While adding that the Sky Lantern Festival brought popularity, wealth and luck, the vice president regarded the festival as a signification of blessing, ingenuity and conscience of the sky. Referring to the connotations of sky lanterns, the vice president emphasized the importance of being a citizen of integrity. "I wish everyone the very excellence," concluded the vice president.
