Vice President Annette Lu attended a forum entitled "Reconstructing Beautiful Formosa" on March 12, keynoting "six battlefields" on which China is targeting against Taiwan: military expansion, economy, diplomacy, mass media, psychology, and law.

Vice President Annette Lu's keynote speech is made against the background of the fact that March 14 will mark the anniversary of China's passage of the "Anti-Separation Law," which was termed by the vice president in her speech as China's version of "Taiwan Relations Act," - peace on condition of unification, and an excuse to wage war against Taiwan.

Following her criticisms of China's Anti-Separation Law, the vice president argued that, even before any actual war taking place, China had been battling against Taiwan in terms of its military expansion, economic encirclement, diplomatic blockage, mass media propaganda, and psychological and legal threats.

Showing her disagreement to the Anti-Separation Law, "Taiwan will not split China: it is China which is splitting Taiwan," the vice president pointed out. She continued to urge the Legislative Yuan to closely examine all of the new bills regarding the country's security and proposed to legislate Taiwan's version of the "Anti-Separation Law." "Genuine peace, not peace made in surrender or in the name of unification, is what the Taiwanese citizens hope for," the vice president concluded.
