The Office of the President announced the 2005 "Young Writers of the Year" on March 24, congratulating 30 young writers and encouraging more children to write for fun and to express their creativity.
The winners of the 2005 young writers of the year are best of the best--their works were chosen from the 2,053 pieces which were already posted on the office's website.
On top of that, there had been plenty of works submitted by school children who live in remote or offshore areas, which proves that in Taiwan, every child is given equal opportunity in his or her course of growing up.
The president especially encourages the young to express their imagination and world views through writing. Therefore, the Office of the President calls for youngsters to post their works on the office's website.
