On March 25, Vice President Annette Lu urged to ensure high-class construction quality in both public and private sectors, and again emphasized the importance of maintaining peaceful harmony between nature and artificiality.
To further elucidate her points, the vice president presented her philosophy of "hexagonal values": to pursue truth, good and beauty, and to love the heaven, the earth, and the human. "Construction quality must be gauged by truth, good, and beauty, and it must come to terms with the natural and social ambiance, that is, to pay respect to the heaven, the earth, and the people," the vice president explained.
The vice president made these points when attending a plenary meeting of the Taiwan Civil Engineers Association (TWEC). Speaking at the meeting, the vice president encouraged the attendees to make maximal use of their professionalism and strike a balance between resource protection and utilization.
