2006-03-31

The Office of the President is to have its Open House Weekend on the coming Sunday, April 2. The open hours will be from 8a.m. to 4p.m.

The coming Open House Weekend is the second time in this year that the Office of the President will be open to public visits on that day, together with which there will be various exhibitions on such subjects as historic photos of the Office of the President, civilian and military medals, Taiwanese culture, artistic crafts, etc.

The tour, including the exhibitions and displays, is open to the general public, except for those who bear the identity of the People's Republic of China. All visitors to the Office of the President are required to identify themselves with either citizen IDs or passports.

On the day of the Open House Weekend, there will be quite a few performances before the flag-lowering ceremony commences, including flag marches, band marches, balloon shows, Chinese Kong-fu, Dances of Tai-chi, etc. These performances, starting at 2:20p.m., will be conducted by kindergarten children and high-school students.

Specifically designed for the Open House Weekend, introductory brochures on the Office of the President will be distributed for free to the visitors, and voluntary personnel will be on the site for the needy.
