"When we enjoy savoring a great variety of agricultural products, we should be thankful to the farmers, for their labor," said Secretary-General of the Office of the President Mark Chen on April 2nd.
Chen made the above statement while attending a display of agricultural products, entitled "Thousand Loves to Thousand Seeds," part of the Open House Weekend activities hosted by the Office of the President.
Chen added that Taiwan's farmers have made the best use of modern technology in order to improve the quality of agricultural products that have won praise from around the world.
"Agriculture is the root of all life," he said, and urged all citizens to focus their attention on issues of water and soil conservation, environmental protection, and avian flu prevention. "Today, we share the pride of our country's agricultural achievements," said the secretary-general.
