In response to media allegations reporting that the president had met with three Democratic Progressive Party caucus whips at the Legislative Yuan the night before April 1, the Department of Public Affairs of the Office of the President officially clarified those reports as false.
The Department of Public Affairs also acknowledged the president's support of Premier Su Tseng-chang and Democratic Progressive Party Chairman Yu Shyi-kun's relentless endeavors, pointing out the president's call for closer cooperation between the ruling party and the Executive Yuan and for the media to end its senseless speculations.
