The president also praised the institute for assisting more than 30 children in supporting themselves. However, worried about the growing number of child abuse cases, the president indicated three areas that the government must urgently focus their attention on, namely the prevention, reporting, and assessment of any possible risk factors for child abuse.
Celebrating Children's Day with the children of the institute, the president watched an institute briefing film with them, enjoyed desserts prepared by them, visited their handicrafts room, and planted a cherry tree by the house with them.
Before concluding his visit, the president encouraged all of Taiwan's children by quoting Walt Disney's saying that the minds of our children are our greatest national resources.
