President Chen Shui-bian visited a seriously ill lady in Taichung on April 4, bringing his and the first lady's best wishes.
Wu Huei-ping, whose story was covered by the media, is being hospitalized in Taichung. Wu has five young children, ages 5 to 12, whom she is most worried about. The president told Wu that he and the first lady were both deeply touched by her story. The president also told her that the government would assist her in taking care of her children.
At the end of his visit, the president wished Mrs. Wu, her five children and her family a happy Children's Day.
