On May 2, President Chen Shui-bian met with representatives of community family care stations and volunteer family and marriage counselors, and admired them for their efforts in promoting family and marriage happiness.
In the occasion, the president asked all the citizens to apply the principle of "loving thy neighbor as thyself" to daily family life and value, to create more families of happy marriage, and, finally, to make Taiwan an island of beauty and happiness.
The President's Senior Advisor Kao Chun-ming, who is also a Presbyterian pastor, and Presidential Deputy Secretary-General Cho Jung-tai were also present at the meeting.
