The Office of the President thanked the Taiwanese who have autonomously been waiting at the CKS Airport for the return of President Chen Shui-bian and the ROC (Taiwan) delegation to Latin America.
The president and his delegation did not return to Taiwan on May 11, the date previously set. The Office of the President therefore said that Taiwan is in a difficult diplomatic position in the international community, and any change of the schedule and the itinerary is a "necessary expediency."
And for those Taiwanese people who have already been waiting at the CKS Airport to meet the plane, the Office of the President thanked them for their cheer and support to the President's efforts to fight for Taiwan's diplomacy.
