President Chen Shui-bian met with President Anote Tong for the second time on May 24 at the Office of the President. At the end of the meeting, President Chen bade his guest farewell, and the two presidents both looked forward to seeing each other again soon.
In the meeting, the two presidents talked about their visit to Hualien on May 23. President Tong said that he was truly impressed by the love of Tzu Chi members, and the amazing natural attractions of the Taroko Gorge.
Inspired by the humanitarian work of the Tzu Chi Foundation, President Anote also said that he would bring what he had experienced here back to his country to serve his people.
President Anote and his delegation were accompanied by Taiwan's Vice Foreign Minister Chang Siao-yueh to visit the Office of the President.
