On June 1, President Chen Shui-bian approved the resignations of his Deputy Secretary-General Ma Yung-chen and National Security Council Senior Advisor Lin Jin-chang.
In order to follow the president's determination to introduce reform and unselfishly shape up his administration from within, Ma and Lin submitted their resignations soon after the president announced his determination on May 31.
Since the president started his political career until he approved the two resignations, Ma and Lin had provided him with assistance and help for around 15 years.
