According to the "International Narcotics Control Strategy Report-2006" made by the US Department of State, Taiwan, for the sixth consecutive year, is not targeted as a drug transit/transshipment point for drugs bound for the US, President Chen Shui-bian said in a written congratulatory statement announced in the "2006 National Anti-Drug Conference" held by the Executive Yuan on June 4.
This year, in order to eradicate the rising drug abuse situation in Taiwan, the Executive Yuan continues to focus on anti-drug campaigns, and has designated the years of 2005 through 2008 as "National Anti-drug Years" along with the strategies of "prevention, resistance, abstaining, and seizure" of drugs.
The president wished the conference great success, and hailed the conference participants.
