President Chen Shui-bian congratulated a group of high school students who participated in the "Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2006 (Intel ISEF 2006)" on their excellent performance in this contest.
This contest, held from May 7-13 in Indianapolis of Indiana, USA, drew 1947 high school students from 58 countries. This year, contestants from Taiwan won 19 awards.
The students representing Taiwan in the Intel ISEF 2006 were selected from the medalists of the Taiwan International Science Fair, a competition held annually by the National Taiwan Science Education Center.
Besides congratulating these students, the president called on more youngsters to involve in scientific research.
