When attending a ceremony to celebrate the publication of Cultural Landmarks of the Women in Taiwan on June 9 in Taipei, Vice President Annette Lu called on the public to create cooperation and harmony between the two genders.
In addition to recognizing the significance of the book, she also pointed out that Taiwan's freedom and democracy, achieved as a result of long-time struggle, should be attributed not only to men but also to women.
She said, "history" hitherto has only interpreted part of human conditions. Therefore, she proposed to add "herstory" so as to  make the "human story" as complete as possible.
