President Chen Shui-bian, accompanied by Premier Su Tseng-chang, inspected the heavy rainfall disaster areas in Chiayi and Yunlin Counties on June 10.
In addition to reporting to the president and the premier on the disaster conditions, the magistrates of the two counties wished the Legislative Yuan to pass the budget bill on water disaster prevention as soon as possible.
Officials of the Water Resources Agency under the Department of Economic Affairs also accompanied the president's inspection.
