Vice President Annette Lu pointed out that "Belief, Hope, and Love" are the three creeds that enhance social harmony when attending an award presentation ceremony held by insurance companies on July 4 in Taipei.
In the ceremony, the vice president thanked insurance workers for their contribution to the "comfort of the people," one of the three goals targeted by the president and the vice president in 2000. The other two are to achieve "security of the country" and "stability of society."
She cited the example of Warren Buffet, who donated a fortune to the charity fund of Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, in order to share his love with the world. Therefore, she wished everyone to treat "love" as a life-long endeavor that will bring hope to society.
