The presidential building is to be open to the general public from 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday, August 6, the Department of Public Affairs under the Office of the President announced.
On the open-house day, two fairs will be held on the north and south squares in front of the presidential building. One is featuring the local cultural characteristics of Hsinchu City, and the other is a sports carnival held by the National Council on Physical Fitness and Sports of the Executive Yuan.
Moreover, to render convenience to participants of the "Beauty of the Presidential Building" photography contest, the Office of the President welcomes visitors of August 6 to bring their cameras to capture the beauty of the building inside and outside. Except for citizens of the People's Republic of China, to whom the presidential building is not open, interested visitors are advised to enter the south and north squares respectively on Chungking S. Road and Baocing Road on August 6. All visitors will be required to identify themselves with personal IDs or passports when entering the building.
This event marks the 4th of this year's open days, and should it be canceled due to inclement weather conditions, the office of the president will announce the cancellation through media.
