Vice President Lu Meets with Lions Clubs Members

Vice President Annette Lu met with members of the Taiwan Chapter of the Lions Clubs International on August 3 at the Office of the President. She thanked them for their support for the forum on "national security, social stability, and people's safety," which is to be held this Saturday.

This forum is part of the "Blue Sky, Green Land, Perfect Taiwan" initiave proposed by the vice president. Through discussions and opinion exchanges in this forum, she expected the voice of the people from every social stratum to be heard by leaders of different political parties.

In the meeting, the vice president also called for self-purification and reform within the ruling Democratic Progressive Party. She pointed out that an independent judicial system and responsible media are crucial to creating new Taiwan values, including modernity, justice, democracy, and humanism.

At the end of the meeting, the vice president thanked the Taiwan Chapter of the Lions Clubs International again for its assistance in Taiwan's domestic affairs and diplomacy.
