President Chen Meets with President of Panama's Supreme Court.
President Chen Shui-bian met with President Graciela J. Dixon C. of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Panama on August 7 at the Office of the President. They both hoped the cooperation in justice between Taiwan and Panama will be further strengthened by this visit.

"Justice, especially its independence, modernization, and transparence, is crucial to the constitutional order of a nation, be it the Five-Power Constitution of the Republic of China or the check and balance between the three powers in the constitution of the Republic of Panama," President Chen emphasized.

Through President Dixon, also the chairwoman of the International Association of Women Judges, the president passed his regards to President Martin Torrijos of Panama.

President Dixon and her husband, Humberto Cerrud, visited the Office of the President in the company of Taiwan's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Chang Siao-yue. Deputy Secretary-General to the President Liu Shyh-fang was also present in the meeting.
