In a meeting with Miss Chinatown USA 2006 Louise Wu on August 24 at the Office of the President, President Chen Shui-bian congratulated Wu on her honor and encouraged her to make more contributions to Taiwan.
Wu is originally from Tainan City, which is also the hometown of the president and Ang Lee, the director of the Oscar winner Brokeback Mountain.
Wu's visit to the Office of the President was accompanied by Maysing Yang, a vice minister of the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission under the Executive Yuan.
