Vice President Lu Responds to News Reports about Her Running for Vice President
Taipei, April 21 (CNA) Vice President Annette Lu said Monday that it is up to President Chen Shui-bian to decide whom he will pick as his running mate in the 2004 presidential election.
In response to news reports that she has made it known to Chen that she will not be his running mate in 2004, Lu said in a statement issued through her office that while she will respect Chen's decision, she would be glad to see someone else fill her shoes if Chen allows it, especially as there is so much talent in the Democratic Progressive Party.
