President Chen expressed his appreciation to the members of the delegation for taking time out of their busy schedules to come to Taiwan, as the Japanese Parliament is presently in session. He said that this symbolizes the deep friendship between the two countries. President Chen also asked Parliamentarian Kamei Hisaoki, the leader of the delegation, to pass along his regards to Hiranuma Takeo, the head of the Council. He said he hopes that Parliamentarian Takeo will have an opportunity to make a visit to Taiwan after his health improves.
