President Chen and Vice President Lu Express Condolences over the Death of Yin Tsung-wen

Taipei, March 28 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian and Vice President Annette Lu paid tribute Friday to the late Yin Tsung-wen, former secretary-general of the National Security Council, praising his dedication to safeguarding the Republic of China's national security for decades.

President Chen offered his condolences to Yin's family at the hospital Friday afternoon. He praised Yin as the staunchest guard of the nation, who had made invaluable efforts toward bolstering the nation's defense strength, refining the nation's security strategies and planning the nation's intelligence systems.

Other important posts that Yin had held during his career include director general of the National Security Bureau, director general of the Military Intelligence Bureau and commander of the Penghu Defense Command.
