Taipei, March 17 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian, who attended the fifth congress of the World Chinese Writers Association, bestowed lifetime achievement awards upon noted prolific Taiwan writers Ro Lan and Cheng Chin-pao.
Chen also encouraged this year's five other award winners to continue their creative writing so that they can serve as propagators of Chinese literature and allow the world to appreciate its beauty and richness.
The World Chinese Writers Association was established in Taipei 10 years ago. It now has a total of about 3,000 members in 97 branches around the world.
