Vice President Vincent C. Siew and his wife Susan Chu, along with a delegation from Taiwan, at 9:30 a.m. on September 8 (3:30 p.m. September 8 Taipei time) left the hotel where they were staying and headed to the Kingdom of Swaziland's Matsapha International Airport, bringing to a close their two-day stay in Swaziland.
Swaziland's Chief of Protocol Sense Dlamini was waiting at the door to the lounge for dignitaries at the airport to welcome Vice President Siew and Mrs. Siew. In addition, Swaziland Prime Minister Absalom Themba Dlamini was in the lounge waiting for the arrival of the vice president. Vice President Siew and Prime Minister Dlamini engaged in brief discussions, with both noting that the visit by Vice President Siew to the kingdom was a successful one. In addition, they reiterated that both countries will continue to strengthen cooperative relations in order to foster greater wellbeing for the people of the two nations.
After the meeting, Prime Minister Dlamini escorted Vice President Siew and Mrs. Siew out of the lounge. The color guard then carried out a ceremony to bid the vice president farewell. Vice President Siew then boarded the aircraft. Before entering the cabin, he turned around and waved to officials and people from Swaziland, as well as personnel from the ROC embassy in Swaziland, who were at the airport to wish him well on his journey. The vice president's gesture was aimed at thanking everyone for the warm reception provided to him over the past two days.
Earlier in the day before Vice President Siew and Mrs. Siew departed for the airport, they made a trip to the ROC embassy. While there, they thanked embassy staff for their hard work and also took pictures with them.
After a nearly 16-hour flight, Vice President Siew, Mrs. Siew, and the delegation landed back in Taiwan at 5:00 p.m. on September 8. This marked the end of the vice president's trip to Swaziland to participate in celebrations there marking the kingdom's 40th anniversary of independence and His Majesty King Mswati III's 40th birthday.
