President Chen Presides over a Swearing-in Ceremony for New Secretary-general to the President, Chiou I-jen, and New National Security Council Secretary-general, Kang Ning-hsiang

Taipei, Feb. 6 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian presided Thursday over a ceremony at the Presidential Office, in which Secretary-General to the President Chiou I-jen and National Security Council (NSC) Secretary-General Kang Ning-hsiang were sworn in.

Chiou and Kang bowed in front of the national flag and the picture of Republic of China founding father Sun Yat-sen and vowed to abide by the law and fulfill their obligations to serve the country.

Also present to witness the ceremony were Vice President Annette Lu, Premier Yu Shyi-kun, Judicial Yuan President Weng Yueh-sheng, Control Yuan President Fredrick Chien, deputy secretary-generals to the president Chen Che-nan and Joseph Wu, and NSC deputy secretary-generals Chang Jong-feng and Han Kun.
