President Chen Meets with His Advisors

Taipei, Jan. 8 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian reiterated his "one goal, two points" policy to a group of his advisers Wednesday.

Chen said the goal of his administration is to improve life of the people on Taiwan. The two points are focusing on bettering the economy and pressing ahead with reforms.

The president, who first spelled out the policy in his New Year's Day speech, also outlined his administration's efforts to fulfill the country's international responsibilities, to support international anti-terrorism programs and to maintain stability across the Taiwan Strait.

He also sought the advisers' opinions on government policy.

A total of 31 advisers attend the meeting with Chen. Vice President Annette Lu and Chen's chief of staff Chen Shih-meng were also present.
