Upon learning of the re-election of US President Barack H. Obama, President Ma Ying-jeou sent a congratulatory message to his counterpart through the ROC Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the message, President Ma extended sincere congratulations on behalf of the 23 million people of the Republic of China on Mr. Obama's re-election as president of the United States of America. He also noted that in the past four years, the close and amicable relationship between the two countries is the best that it has been in three decades, thanks in no small part to the dynamic leadership of President Obama. In closing, President Ma said he looks forward to achieving an even stronger partnership with the US in the years ahead.
