Office of the President responds to terror attack in Barcelona, Spain
According to Presidential Office Spokesperson Lin He-ming (林鶴明), President Tsai Ing-wen was greatly saddened by the terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain on August 17 in which a van plowed into a crowd, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries. On behalf of the people of Taiwan, President Tsai also expressed her condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, saying that all Taiwanese stand in solidarity with the people of Spain. Earlier in the day, Secretary-General to the President Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) relayed President Tsai's sympathy and concern to the Spanish people in a call to Representative Jose Luis Echaniz Cobas of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Taipei.
