President Tsai attends 2017 Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship
On the afternoon of October 22, President Tsai Ing-wen put in an appearance at the 2017 Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship, where she greeted top women golfers from around the world and took part in a putting exhibition.
The 2017 Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship, a top-notch event on the international women's tour, was jointly sanctioned by the US Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and the Taiwan Ladies Professional Golf Association (TLPGA). This year's event attracted many of the world's top golfers, including noted Taiwanese golfer Yani Tseng (曾雅妮), to vie for the top prize.
After arriving at the venue, President Tsai strolled to the 18th green in the company of Swinging Skirts Golf Foundation Chairman Johnson Wang (王政松), Legislative Yuan President Su Jia-chyuan (蘇嘉全), Political Deputy Minister of Education Tsai Ching-Hwa (蔡清華), Taoyuan City Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan (鄭文燦), and Minister of Foreign Affairs David T. Lee (李大維). The event organizer then provided President Tsai with a putter and a golf ball. She placed the ball on the green, took aim and promptly sank the putt before wishing all the participants the best of luck.
