Vice President Lu Attends the 10th Anniversary of the ROC Hardware Industry Association
Taipei, June 17 (CNA) Vice President Annette Lu said Monday that she hopes Taiwan's cheap but high-quality products can be introduced to every corner of the world, especially now that it has entered the World Trade Organization.
In a speech to mark the 10th anniversary of the Republic of China Hardware Industry Association, Lu said the economic recession that has plagued the world will end soon and that WTO members have opened their markets to Taiwan products. She added that this is the best opportunity to promote Taiwan products to the world.
Lu encouraged the hardware industry not to feel frustrated in today's era of high-technology. She vowed that the government will not abandon traditional industries, saying that every sector can be profitable if it pays attention to research and development, innovation and marketing.
